#10. Kings XI Punjab 226/6 Vs Chennai Super Kings
In the 2nd qualifier of IPL 2014, Virender Sehwag ransacked 122 in just 58 deliveries. His awe-breaking innings took Kings XI Punjab to the 10th highest team total scores in IPL. In one of the highest scoring IPL matches KXIP racked up 226/6 from their 20 overs in the first innings. It was the third time in three matches that season that they had crossed 200 against Super Kings to set up a winning score. Sehwag took charge to KXIP bowlers from start and smashed 12 fours and 8 sixes in his breathtaking innings. Glenn Maxwell contributed with a cameo of 19 balls 38 runs to finish the innings at the total score of 226. In return Chennai Super Kings scored 202 in a close run chase with Suresh Raina’s 87 off just 25 balls. Kings XI Punjab won the match by 24 runs.
#09. Royal Challengers Bangalore 227/4 vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
CB have made it a habit of featuring in the high scoring lists. This is because of some names like Kohli, de Villiers and Chris Gayle in their batting line up. Apart from that Kohli and de Villiers tend to score big partnerships whenever they bat together. AB de Villiers 82 and Virat Kohli 75 stitched a partnership of 157 runs for the second wicket as RCB posted 227/4 against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 12, 2016. It was the 3rd partnership of over 100 runs between these two architects. Kohli and de Villiers continued good form and smashed 7 fours and 3 sixes, 7 fours and 6 sixes respectively. Sarfaraz Khan helped his team to reach 9th highest team total scores in IPL scoring 35 off 15 balls at the end. Chasing down the target Sunrisers Hyderabad were only able to score 182 runs.

#08. Delhi Daredevils 231/4 vs Kings XI Punjab
Riding over half-centuries from openers David Warner and Virender Sehwag, Delhi Daredevils posted a total of 231/4 against Kings XI Punjab in Delhi on April 23, 2011. Cracking 231/4 against a hapless KXIP attack. Poor performances in the matches leading up to this one due to a lifeless Kotla pitch, resulted in Viru asking for a pacy track and getting one. KXIP set up a marvellous run chase, thanks to the heroics of Shaun Marsh’s 95, but could only manage to score 202/6 in the 20 overs.
#07. Kings XI Punjab 231/4 vs Chennai Super Kings
Glenn Maxwell played a knock of 90 off 38 balls as Kings XI Punjab posted a total of 231/4 against Chennai Super Kings in Cuttack on May 7, 2014. On a fresh Cuttack pitch, which was hosting its first game, Glenn Maxwell 90, David Miller 47 and George Bailey 40 not out propelled their side to the 7th highest team total scores in IPL with a total of 231/4. Maxwell was brutal especially on Ravi Ashwin, who was carted for a couple of sixes over midwicket before being dispatched over third man off a reverse sweep. Chasing a daunting target of 232, Chennai could only manage to score 187 for the loss of six wickets.
#06. Kings XI Punjab 231/4 vs Chennai Super Kings
Kings XI Punjab scored 6th highest team total scores in IPL with the help of blistering knock by Adam Gilchrist. Leading from the front Gilchrist slammed 106 off 55 balls. Gilly scored 106 runs with the help of 8 fours and 9 towering sixes. After the departure of Gilchrist Shaun Marsh continued the carnage. He took Van der Wath for 30 runs in an over. Marsh scored 79 off 49 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes. Chasing one of the highest targets in IPL the RCB side were bundled out for 121 in 17 overs. They lost the match by 111 runs.
#05. Royal Challengers Bangalore 235/1 vs Mumbai Indians
The record 215-run unbeaten partnership between Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers for the first wicket helped RCB post 235/1 against Mumbai Indians. Virat Kohli scored 82 off 50 deliveries. He struck 6 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. AB de Villiers smashed 133* of 59 deliveries with 19 fours and 4 sixes. Chasing down this huge total MI scored 196 for the loss of seven wickets. On a flat Wankhede pitch, de Villiers’ innings was carnage combined with the innovation scoring an unbeaten 133 at an immense strike rate of 225.42. Such dominant was de Villiers batting that Virat Kohli’s 82 off 50 balls seemed as supporting innings. In the run chase Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard of MI showed some resistance but all in vane. MI lost the match by 39 runs.
#04. Chennai Super Kings 240/5 vs Kings XI Punjab
Michael Hussey hammered a scintillating unbeaten 116 to take CSK to a massive 240/5 v Kings XI Punjab. Hussey took charge to KXIP bowlers in Mohali on 19 April, 2008. Due to his breathtaking innings Chennai Super Kings posted 240 for the loss of five wickets against Kings XI Punjab. The score is 4th in the list of top 10 Highest Team Total Scores in IPL. In response, Kings XI Punjab could only manage to score 207/4. CSK won the match by 33 runs.
#03. Chennai Super Kings 246/5 vs Rajasthan Royals
Chennai Super Kings are used to score big in IPL. There appearance twice in the list of Top 05 IPL highest team total scores underlines the fact. With their strong batting line up CSK prefer to chase the targets. But they are not bad at all in setting some. Chennai Super Kings scored the 3rd highest team total scores in IPL v Rajasthan Royals at Chennai on April 3, 2010. The highlight of CSK innings was Murali Vijay’s 127. His whirlwind knock of 127 helped his team to score 155 runs in last 10 overs. The score remained the highest score in the IPL history till Gayle storm prevailed. This score remained the highest innings total in IPL for more than 3 years.
#02. Royal Challengers Bangalore 248/3 vs Gujarat Lions
RCB posted 2nd Highest Team Total Scores in IPL v Gujarat Lions at Bengaluru on May 14 2016. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers struck centuries as RCB posted 248/3 in 20 overs. After the early exit of Gayle, de Villiers joined Virat Kohli and they continued to rattle GL bowling until both of them completed their centuries. Virat Kohli scored 109 off just 55 balls. His innings comprised of 5 fours and 8 sixes. On the other hand de Villiers smashed 129 of 52 balls. He struck 10 fours and 12 sixes in his innings. De Villiers and Kohli set the record of highest partnership for any wicket in IPL. In return GL scored 104 all out and lost the match by a huge margin of 144 runs.
#01. Royal Challengers Bangalore 263/5 vs Pune Warriors
The highest team total scores of IPL was made by Royal Challengers Bangalore v Pune Warriors in IPL 2013. Fastest century (30 balls), highest individual T20 score (175*) and most number of individual sixes (17). Many individual and team records were broken in the match. Chris Gayle did it all alone and remained unbeaten. Pune Warriors captain Aoran Finch won the toss and elected to field first. Gayle ruined Pune Warriors with a blast. He scored 175 runs unbeaten with 17 sixes. AB de Villiers finished the the innings with 31 runs off 12 balls. In return Pune Warriors failed to chase down ODI like target. They lost the match by 130 runs. Although many IPL seasons have been played after 2013. The score still remains at the top of Highest Team Total Scores in IPL.
