The game of cricket has advanced from club ball to professional cricket from many years. In early days test cricket was dominant. The scenario changed gradually to the present form of cricket. That is ODI and T20 cricket. Although, test cricket is still played and considered as the real test of batsmen and bowlers. However, ODI and T20 formats have their own effects on the game. From past few years, cricket has become much more fast game than its origin was. There are many reasons behind unevenness between bat and ball. Such as thicker bats, flatter tracks and field restriction rules applied in limited overs game of cricket. Due to all these and many more reasons, cricket has slanted its favor towards batsmen. #10 NatWest Series (New Zealand in England), 2013
Back in 2013, New Zealand and England had a high scoring three match ODI series. This series comes at number 10 in highest scoring ODI series of all time. Special thing about this series is MJ Guptil’s 330 runs at an average of 330 and strike rate of 105.09. He struck 2 centuries in this series. New Zealand’s MJ McClenaghan took 08 wickets at a strike rate of 21.1. The series was won by 2-1.
#09 Australia in Pakistan ODI Series, 1998/99
Australia Pakistan series 1998/99 is at number 9 in highest scoring ODI series. This is the only series before 21st century that makes to top 10 highest scoring ODI series. Two class players Ricky Pointing and Muhammad Yousaf made one century each.Ricky Pointing scored 195 runs at an average of 97.50. BP Julian from Australia took 7 wickets at a strike rate of 25.7. Australia won that series 3-0
#08 Chappell-Hadlee Trophy (New Zealand in Australia), 2016/17
In Chappell-Hadlee Trophy 2016/17 Australia clean swept New Zealand 3-0. One of the highest scoring ODI series included David Warner’s 299 runs at an average of 99.66 and a strike rate over 100. Warner scored 2 centuries along with Steve Smith and MJ Guptil’s 01 centuries.
#07 New Zealand in Zimbabwe ODI Series, 2011/12
Special thing about New Zealand in Zimbabwe series was 310 runs of BRM Taylor of Zimbabwe. He ended up scoring 2 centuries and 1 fifty in the series. His average was 310 along with a strike rate of 106.89. New Zealand won this highest scoring ODI series 2-1.
#06 Chappell-Hadlee Trophy (Australia in New Zealand), 2005/06
Chappel-Hadlee is involved second time in highest scoring ODI series. This time back in 2005/06. Although lowest team total in the series made by New Zealand was 105. The series still maintains its position in top 10 highest scoring ODI series. Australian all rounder Andrew Symonds made 201 runs with an average of 67 including 01 century. Australia won that series 2-1.
#05 Chappell-Hadlee Trophy (Australia in New Zealand), 2006/07
Chappel- Hadlee trophy 2006/7 makes its way to number 05 in highest scoring ODI series with 1669 runs in total. Australian batsman ML Hayden scored 219 runs with an average of 109.50. He scored 181 runs not out in that series. CD McMillan (NZ) and MEK Hussey also scored 01 century each. New Zealand white washed Australia 3-0.
#04 Zimbabwe in South Africa ODI Series, 2010/11
Despite of having lowest score of 147, this series makes its way to number 4. South African batsman Hashim Amla scored a total of 244 runs at an average of 81.33 including 2 centuries with highest score of 110.AB de Villiers also scored 231 at an average of 115.50 including 2 centuries. BRM Taylor of Zimbabwe and JP Duminy, CA Ingram of South Africa also scored one century each. South Africa ended up white washing Zimbabwe.
#03 South Africa in India ODI Series, 2009/10
This series is mostly remembered for Sachin Tendulkar’s double century, which was the first ever in ODIs. The 350 run barrier was broken twice, both teams doing it one time each, including one score in excess of 400 runs. AB de Villiers was highest run scorer of this series. Scoring 241 runs at an average of 241 remaining not out two times. JH Kallis and Sachin Tendulkar also made one century each. India won this series 2-1.
#02 Afro-Asia Cup (Africa XI, Asia XI in India), 2007
In Afro-Asia Cup 2007, Asia XI cleaned up Africa XI 3-0. Africa XI wicket keeper batsman SM Pollok was highest run scorer. He scored 223 runs at an average of 111.50 including 01 century. Apart from Pollok MS Dhoni and M Jayawardene also scored 01 century each.

In highest scoring ODI series England in India series 2016/17 takes number 01 position. In this particular series both teams scored more than three hundred runs in every match. England lost this series 1-2. KM Jadhav and J Roy were outstanding performers of the series. KM Jadhav was highest scorer. He scored 232 runs at an average of 77.33 including 01 century and 01 fifty.
